Our Team

Sara Varner

My name is Sara Varner. I am a retired Art Teacher of 30 years. I have taught all ages ranging from preschool to adult and love every level of teaching. Along with classroom art, I have hosted summer art camps at schools and home, taught private lessons, and taught art at The Salvation Army Summer Enrichment camps as well as a homeschooling program during the school year. I have hosted painting parties for various events and have done freelance art projects for clients which include personal commissions, murals and stage sets. When I’m not painting or drawing in my studio, I love spending time with my grandson, walking and scouring vintage and antique stores.

Alex Parker

My name is Alex Parker and I am a lifelong artist from Byram, MS. I received my B.F.As in Art and Graphic Design from Belhaven University in 2025. I have experience in a variety of mediums, including oil painting, drawing, and 3D modeling. Art’s impact on my life inspires my passion to teach. I believes making art not only opens the door to learning valuable skills, but is a path to discovery and communication. I’m excited to encourage students and serve families with Children’s Art Classes!

Cameron Huey

My name is Cameron Huey, I am an artist from Florence, MS. I have been drawing since I could hold a crayon and haven’t stopped since. I completed my Art Education Bachelor’s Degree program in 2022 and finished my Master’s of Fine Arts degree in 2025, both from Mississippi
Christian University. I am proficient in ballpoint pen, watercolor, pastels, acrylic paint, digital illustration, and clay sculpture. Alongside teaching at Children’s Art Classes, I am an adjunct instructor at Christian University when I am not drawing, reading, building Legos, playing with my cats, or watching movies with my family. I can’t wait to plant the seeds of creativity in my students, cultivate their skills and love for the arts, and watch them blossom into artists!

Jess & Chris Jones

We are Chris and Jess Jones of Madison, MS. Chris is a comptroller for a local car dealership, and I am a homeschool mom to our two children, Julian and Carianne.

In our community, we noticed many of the children’s activities are geared towards recreational sports, so we wanted to offer other creative outlets for children who may not be sports enthusiasts. Children’s Art Classes presents a great opportunity for our local community to see themselves as inspiring visionaries, which excites us greatly. We are looking forward to growing CAC roots here in Madison.
